Sorry, Wrong Number

I've got your number
but, it won't be me calling
no, it won't be me calling

You played with my heart
one too many times
singing out one last refrain
now my sun it don't shine
cloudy days reign

I've been feeling blue
sinking in a black hole
lost in my thoughts of you
shine some light in my soul

I've got your number
but, it won't be me calling
no, it won't be me calling

You played me like a fool
running all over town
breaking all the rules
when I wasn't around

I got the picture frame & all
smashed it on the floor
crystal rain begins to fall
faded dreams, memories torn
no longer hang on my wall

Yeah, I got your number
but,  it won't be me calling
no, it won't be me calling

  1. Ya, sometimes the best thing to do is to delete someone's number...along with deleting the person out of one's mind!!

  3. haha well you know
You could call them at your show
Hold on to the frame good and tight
Then when they open the door let it take flight
    Whammo! right to the face.
Let them run around town now with a bruised face embrace
Then hit delete from mind and phone
Giving them nothing but a dial tone
Of course that could result in Judge Judy
Maybe just pelt him with duty
    The dog kind
Or I'm sure a horse wouldn't mind lol

hope you have have a great day
at your bay as the cats play

  5. Best to be done with the fool, if they are running all round town without you. I like the beat to this, Truedessa.

  6. This felt like a song. It has a beat, it has a message, and it has a lot of soul. Clearly you're a poet with a lot of ways to convey your message. Well done!

  9. I guess I'm not alone in seeing this as begging to be put to music. Definitely bluesy with a great refrain.

A lovely write-- like lyrics to a song. It is light and easy to read yet is full of hurt and emotion. Funny, too, I nearly wrote of a telephone call but the poem changed on its own. Have a good evening, Jason
