Golden Rose

Golden rose your elegance sweeps me away
passionate warmth wrapped in a glowing sunset
romantic melodies playing, melancholy ballet
fingers softly unlacing my black satin corset

sweetness of  ripe citrus, soft fleshy petals
gently free falling to the earth one by one
our bodies entwined we create a madrigal
collapsing into verse we melt into the sun

captured  in a moment of pure innocence
no longer do we feel the thorns of pain
could this moment be more than coincidence
our consciousness drifts to a higher plane

layers of love within the blossom of the rose
raw beauty, light hearted spirits we grow...

posted for dVerse..open link night..have fun everyone

note from author : This was inspired by a song I recently heard

    1. Hi Brian,

Haha..Need to be careful of those thorns but, in this case I was referring to the thorns in life. Thanks as always..enjoy your comments.

  2. A thorn in the bum
    Would make one hum
Nice to have the pain slip away
    And melt into the day
    If only I suppose
    But that golden rose
    Would sure strike a pose
    and curl ones toes lol
    Can't say I'd mind
On body, soul and umm behind

The beauty of endearment! Non-static it'll always be rekindled wanting more. The yearnings are fulfilled when two souls are blended into one! Truly said Trudessa!

  4. I am trying to think if I ever saw a golden rose....but I think being in the presence of so much beauty, it is true one does not either notice or feel the thorns. Beauty definitely helps us transcend pain! Nice poem here, Truedessa. And picture too.

  8. A sensuous sonnet - exploring the beauty of a golden rose. I get them every year for my birthday. They always take my breath away, as did your lovely poem.

    1. Thank you so much for visiting..I heard a song about courage recently and overcoming pain which inspired me to write this poem. I think golden roses would be a wonderful gift as they are a symbol of spirituality.
