Radiant Light

The Moth and the Lamp, Cesar Santos

lone moth
seeking her mate
flying on wings of night
fluttering delicate shadows
she sighs

bright light
riding moonbeams
leaving soft scented trails
loving art of subtle allure
she waits

fragile
tendrils of love
consumed burning desire
surrendering herself for light
she clings

  1. nice hit playing up the desire that for the moth becomes deadly....if they pursue it but then again how could they not...

  6. Beautifully penned. I picture this lone moth looking for its mate, seeking the light, and being consumed by it. A tragic fate, but perhaps the moth died happy in search of love.

  7. Oh and end the moth wanted
    As the light surely haunted
    Fueled by desire
    Right into the fire
    Rather find the desire
And use that to light a fire haha

    1. Hi Pat,

A sad twist at the end
      clinging to the light
      never wanting to let go
      of the moonbeams..

  9. Cruel for a nocturnal creature vying for her endearing mate but met with disaster alone and uncared for. Can relate such episodes to many unhappy situations where two people are frustrated in their quests. Nicely Truedessa!
