Carving Eyes So We May See...

Wikimedia commons

planted in a vast fertile field
roots take hold & hope is grown
how many bright  faces will it yield
in autumn's mist, dreams are sown

vines twisting around weaving a path
will it be enough to feed the masses
lost & hungry will we feel the wrath
minds poisoned by mysterious gases

cut of a knife soft flesh, hard shell
carving eyes, so the world may see
candlelight love a place to dwell
opening our hearts holds the key

tossing  pumpkin seeds food for thought
fall breeze may new dreams be caught

written for dVerse Brian hosting..writing about hard issues
through the pumpkin lens..

    1. Good Morning Brian,

Thanks, titles are always hard for me..I do wish we could feed the
      masses..no one should go hungry.

  3. In the sand the eyes remain
    Unable to board the train
    To coming around to see
    Unlike you or me
Too bad eyes could not be carved in
That would sure give the world a spin

    1. Would be nice to carve some eyes
sure would like to feed the masses
hush hungry cries , save some lives
guess some eyes need some glasses..

    2. Some need them thick
To break through that blinding brick

  6. A sonnet no less. And a lovely one at that.
Feeding the masses by scattering seeds. I'll start straightaway in my garden. Find out how hard they are to grow.
And I can do with new dreams.
