Haunting Cries

Tired of sleeping alone
in love with a ghost
haunting me in the night
wanna' feel warm flesh
beating against mine..
but, all I grasp is cold air
shiver runs down my spine
hollow eyes follow mine

fell in love with a ghost
fell in love with a ghost
flying in the night...
on the wings of despair

dreams filled with your
haunting sound...
  thump
    thump
       thump
        thump
my heart races
visions before my eyes
shadowy figure
watching me sleep
I silently scream
reaching for you
slowly fading into the night
memories flickering in candlelight

posted for dVerse..a bit of a ghostly tale..

    1. Well, ghosts are whisper thin..creeping around in the wee hours of
      the night..haunting our dreams..

  2. Oh poor poor you
    Whatever will you due
    Stuck at your coast
    Trying to catch a ghost
    A vacuum could work
    Could be a perk
At least that you can hug
    Might not make you snug
    Could be noisy too
That heart needs something real to come due
    Forget the ghost
Hop a train to another coast

    1. Hi Grace..It's hard to love a ghost but, you know some ghosts
are rather friendly and watch over you...

  5. Makes me think of a morning a few days ago. I had just gotten up, and heard Sherry making whimpering sounds--she does that when she's having a bad dream--so I went back in and patted her shoulder to wake her. When she woke up and saw my shadowy figure hovering above, her scream was not silent. DOH!
Good write! I enjoyed it. Very vivid!

  6. I do not believe all ghosts are evil. Sometimes ghosts can be comforting and CAN be a welcome presence in the night.

    1. Mary, that is very true..some ghosts do bring comfort just by their presence

  14. Yikes. I also see it as a metaphor...that's what it must be like when love grows cold.

    1. Does love grow cold or drift away..or are the memories so precious we choose not to let them go..
