Yearning Pond

yearning
reflective pond
restoring weary souls
leaving wishes, secret desires
stillness

autumn
tranquility
hidden sanctuary
shifting season, transformation
calmness

fall's song
harvesting dreams
whispering melodies
bright tones, orange, yellow, red
we sing

  4. These words sing to me in a way that restores me much as the pond itself would, were I standing at its edge.

    1. Ah you would like this place
      hidden away, gentle breeze
      touching your face...in the
      stillness you can hear your
      thoughts...

  8. Hello Truedessa!
Our Community Hospital has a reflective lake is home to a few dozen
Muscovy ducks. But that lake has restored more people from their suffering (and sin!) than the hospital chaplain.

Thanks for descriptive writing--and my memory....
    PEACE and LIGHT

  9. This is a really tranquil piece of writing - and I enjoyed it very much. Isn't it amazing that autumn/fall which is a time when things are dying and/or going into hibernation is a time of such beauty?

  10. You have captured the feeling of fall, the changes taking place, the colors. This will be a nice poem to look back at in a month or so when the trees are bare totally of leaves.

    1. Hi Mary,

The leaves are starting to fall more here so we have some bare trees already in some areas.

    1. Hi Bjorn,

It is so beautiful when the trees are at their peak but, sadly that time is drifting away and soon we will go into the bareness of winter.
