Ode to Dreams

crystal shower wikimedia

you encompass
my nights
oracle of dreams
hugging me close
cutting through
darkness..
shining light
you breathe
life into
my soul
you dare me
to journey
into the unknown

exploring the labyrinth
passageways of my mind
you whisper
in my ear
lover's secrets
rendezvous of
the heart
teetering
edge of insanity
haunting memories
jumping cliffs
spreading golden wings
soaring vast heaven

mystical realms
sailing ships
tranquil  blue waters
dancing under starlight
hand in hand
cheek to cheek
your body melts into mine
gasping for air
in the hush of night
white owls take flight
crystal shower soft  hues
lost in thoughts of you
ode to dreams

  1. Your dreams (or reality) take you on a real trip, girl! And a reader is right there with every loving moment, emotion.

CAN'T get this song out of my mind:

"Whadda ya know, he smiled at me
    in my dreams last night
my dreams are getting better all the time..."

Thanks for your kind comment(s) Truedessa

  2. Sigh. This is such a lovely, lyrical flight. I especially adore
    "haunting memories
    jumping cliffs
    spreading golden wings
    soaring vast heaven"

Yes. That is what I want, exactly.

  3. oh nice...love me a good dream... i dream very seldom..mostly in the space when i wake very early in the morn and fall asleep again for half an hour or so...and mostly really weird stuff then...smiles... maybe i have to write an ode to my dreams as well, so that they go a bit more in the direction yours go...smiles

    1. Well, you are dreaming at the right time as that is when we have our most powerful dreams.

  5. I dream long symbolic dreams, easy to interpret..they reflect what makes me happy and my fears and the current state of affairs...your ode to them is very "happening";)

  6. The opening lines are brilliant
    you encompass
    my nights

and the poem that follows does not disappoint in any way. I don't remember my dreams often; maybe, like Claudia, I don't dream much?

  8. If dreams could be like this... I'm afraid mine are nightmares.. as I tend to wake up in angst... love the progression of the poem. (BTW is there a typo in the first stanza... shinning light?)..

  9. You dream beautiful dreams....they must be wonderful to experience AND remember. Like a few people before me, I am not one who remembers dreams if I indeed have them.

  11. Your dreams flow
    At your show
    taking you to worlds afar
    No need for a car
    Just follow the owl
    Or another spirits howl
    And what may come
    from their hum
    Who really knows
    as the wind blows
    And on the blue sea
    two sail living free
