Lost Under City Lights

New York at Night, Vivienne Gucwa

When the day is said and done
I look around and you are gone
state of fear beaming headlights
walking dark city streets

chill fills the air, as I remember
two lovers lost in a dream world
sitting together warm park bench
walking hand n' hand , cobblestone

Under city street lights, I wander
alone lost in magical memories
wondering, how do I break this spell
where  thoughts of you dwell

posted for the Mag 201
My muse saw loneliness in the picture
perhaps, a ghost had a story to tell

  8. To be stuck in past memories is something I am familiar with.. to place them in their proper perspective is not an easy thing to do...your poem really struck this note...

  9. Truedessa, this was powerful. I think we've all (I know I have) been lost in that place of memory...and the inevitable fall when reality kicks back in. I loved this piece!

  15. To see others in love is when loneliness feels the worst... somehow I got the feeling of "when all is said and done" by Abba... and I mean that as a praise..

  19. Like feeling lonely in a crowd. When you're lonely you're always alone no matter the environment. But the old haunts are the worst and the best too.
