Ten Thoughtful Words

Together  feasting
  under a full moon
   feeding our inner desires

Eventually darkness
  meets light as we
   find our lost way

Nightingale sweetly sings
  a melody of love
   meant for two

Waltzing with a honey bee
  tickled with pleasure
    sipping nectar

Orange blue skies
  lead the way  to
   a new horizon

Roses lure me into
  their sweet scent
    capturing my heart

Dreams  awaken my soul
  searching for roads
    closer to you

Silence slips
  into the arms of night
    entwined we sleep

    1. Hi Brian,

I really enjoyed working with the form a mini poem in ten words and I liked the fact I didn't need to count syllables. Moonlight will always have an allure that leaves me spellbound.

  3. Looking for the Captain, but he is in absentia for these 8 cool stanzas; you got into the spirit of ten Word deeply, comfortably; nice work. I liked the
    lines /dreams awaken my soul/searching for roads/closer to you/.

    1. Hi Bjorn,

I guess I like to wander on featherlight feet in the shadows of night searching for those beams of light.

  14. Light filling the darkness and taking it away, intertwined through to sleep. Awesome job with the ten words and the acrostic too, two in one, the cat likes that.

  18. I love that you did this using an acrostic and, of course, each one of these speaks to me deeply since I'm a nature addict. The nightingale, especially.

  22. Such a clever approach, combining ten words with an acrostic. Once again, I see that ten make one but are also ten. Love the last particularly, but also the rose, waltzing with a honeybee (how does one do that, besides carefully), all the joy you find in nature. Thank you.

    1. Hi,

Thanks it was fun to give the acrostic a run. Waltzing with a honeybee might be a bit dangerous, but it could be fun.
