A Rare Blend

oh, to taste the grapes of the vine
harvesting their plump juiciness
flavor-able upon my lips
falling into dreaminess
white wispy clouds float
..opening my senses to
the heady aroma..

ah, to taste the grapes of the vine
does the  sun shine brighter
when I am in your presence
heavy  burdens seem lighter
drifting farther into space
..opening my eyes to
the wonders of you..

oh, to taste the grapes of the vine
engaging in passionate lands
harmonious we finally meet
bodies blend, heaven expands
partaking in the goblet
..opening my heart to
the gift of love..

  1. I can see a summer day and a bottle of wine shared between lovers.
And if you meant something completely different, then just ignore me...

    1. Hi Brian,

I think I have a blend of emotions going on in this poem. I have been to a couple of vineyards and it was fun to do the wine tasting.

  13. We are surrounded by vineyards, and as I type, I can hear farmers in the distance pruning, the buzz of the electric saws preparing each vine for optimal growth, and ultimately, sweet fruit.

Lots of things I can connect with in your lovely poem, today. Thanks for sharing.

  16. I believe it will be tasted and savoured...how can 'you' resist..although sometimes the thought and temptation is better than the reality so just as goos to keep it as a glorious wish...

  17. One of my close friends gave me a cutting from his grapevine, which I'm cultivating in my nursery, so that I can start growing my own grapes this summer. This poem only adds to the eagerness of plucking that first grape.
