  1. Truedessa, so glad you joined in....and I hope you feel better soon. Yes, the daffodils, when they appear, really remind me that winter is over. And I loved your reference to robins (our state bird). Their songs are music to my ears!

  5. Lovely, timely triolet--again U do not shy away from classic form as you bend it to your view. I am writing another episode of BLACKTHORNE for OLN, so maybe the Captain & Trudessa can set sail as well; that would be cool.

    1. Haha - I do like to use form sometimes especially when I am not feeling quite up to par..it sets the perimeters for me. Of course I broke the rules on this one I went with 10 syllables instead of 8. Hmm..that might be fun another Capt'n Pat & Truedessa sequel. I can't wait to read your new episode.

    Daffodils

    I wandered lonely as a cloud
    That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
    When all at once I saw a crowd,
    A host, of golden daffodils;
    Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
    Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

    Continuous as the stars that shine
    And twinkle on the milky way,
    They stretched in never-ending line
    Along the margin of a bay:
    Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
    Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

    The waves beside them danced; but they
    Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
    A poet could not but be gay,
    In such a jocund company:
    I gazed--and gazed--but little thought
    What wealth the show to me had brought:

    For oft, when on my couch I lie
    In vacant or in pensive mood,
    They flash upon that inward eye
    Which is the bliss of solitude;
    And then my heart with pleasure fills,
    And dances with the daffodils.

    Are your surprised?

      Do you feel blessed knowing there's a light?
      Do you hold on to treasures seen by those who dare to fight,
      Who know that there is more than meets the eye tonight?
