Haunting Sea/She Sees

Artwork by Adrian Borda

deep sea of mystic blue , the raven flew
sun slowly sets, but somewhere  it rises
vessel of vacant  dreams sails  into  view
ghosts  from  the  past wear many disguises

in  a  distant land ,  searching for  treasure
following  star  maps,  pieces  of  lost  hearts
 mysterious world of hidden pleasure
black  tears, pages of  white  a  story starts

sending  letters to an  address  unknown
pirates sail  fortune  dancing  in  their  head
skeletons of  yesterday , wild sea  moans
beneath hallow black moon, tales from the dead

sojourning  into the depth of the soul
towards the morning light  becoming  whole

    1. Well, they say there is still lost treasures buried along the coastlines where ships once sailed. Who knows where fortune lurks?

Morbidly real even these days when pirates still roam the seas. Life and assets at stake especially when kidnapped for ransom in the Philippines!. Nice twist Truedessa!

    1. Hank,

I guess you are right there are modern day pirates out there lurking. So sad when someone is held hostage. I didn't realize this was a big problem in the Philippines.

  22. Haunting picture. Did you write the poem to accompany it, as ekphrasis? Because the poem takes it apart as if She Seeing, and gives us the ship as treasure ship with pirates and all their gear. Amazing enough for a fantasy dream, but waking up is also welcome!

    1. Susan, Actually, I was recently introduced to this artist and his work, This particular picture just screamed at me. I had a few fragments written that fit and decided to expand on it. I am a vivid dreamer so I could def have a dream very much like this.
