Signals of Distress

Survival basic instincts of the human spirit to carry on
ultimately defeating the odds that try to tip the scales
running a race slow and steady we can persevere
vitality found within each beat of a willing heart
in quiet meditation we find our inner strength
visionaries pave the way for those who cannot see
allowing ourselves to dream of a better world
love and compassion hold the key to survival

  1. Hey Truedessa,

Fitting thoughts from your good self. Our inner strength listening to the wisdom, the wonder of the inner child.

    Thank you for your post.

    2. I'm not too bad today, thank you. The dog has decided to take over my blog site. Somebody has to pawst, um, post on it.

I shall now take a journey back through my screen and back to my home.

      Gary :)

  2. Love and compassion are the key ... or the SOS goes unnoticed. Meditation is helping me gain more of that energy than I've had before. I know this planet has enough for all, but getting to the plenty is so hard. (BTW, Vitality is next week's prompt! I love that you brought it in here as a factor in survival.) A clever and meaningful acrostic..

    1. Susan,

Have you ever attended a crystal meditation? I find it very soothing and restorative as the energy flows within bringing balance of some kind.

  3. Excellent acrostic! I agree love and compassion are both the key or else the signs of distress won't come across as they should. Beautifully put :)

    Lots of love,

  5. Oh how I love this response to the prompt - the will to carry on, the visionaries who inspire us to dream of a better world. Sigh. Words we need to read and repeat to ourselves. Wonderfully written, my friend.

  11. So many people have been saved by the compassion and kindness of others. Millions more would have died if people had not taken the persecuted in. Compassion saves lives!
