Expanding Love

Christ in the Wilderness by Stanley Spencer

In a vast field of wildflowers love grows
expanding the boundaries of the heart
delicate daisies will open and glow
in a vast field of wildflowers love grows
enlightenment in parables and prose
shadowy darkness in light will depart
in a vast field of wildflowers love grows
expanding the boundaries of the heart

  1. This is an extremely beautiful poem, my friend. Congrats on the three years of blogging. What a journey it is, indeed..........I cant believe where it has taken me and how far it has pushed me beyond what I would have done on my own. And the friends we have made! Yay! So happy our paths crossed here!

    1. Hey Dezzie, I am not sure the art is subjective and one can see many things. As I look at it this morning the wilderness meant a time of darkness or cloudiness and he seems to have taken the form of a cloud but, to me clouds bring rain and rain brings flowers and growth. So he could be filled with water for the spirit. I don't know just the wanderings of my mind.

  19. How did he find time to tear himself away from the wildflowers and save the world ?

    1. Good question - to me he was filled with the spirit sort of what the picture implies he is filled - expanded...he was sent to the wilderness to prepare for his journey ahead that would save mankind and give the gift of eternal life. There are questions we will never know the answer to that is why it is called "faith" ..Perhaps the world still needs to be saved as we slowly destroy our natural habitat. Sorry, I don't have the answers to these perplexing questions.
