Concealed Delight

a moment between here and there
gentle breeze blowing in the air
in the stillness of shade and light
my eyes gaze upon your rare sight

finding calmness in a spring day
hidden amongst branches and ray
nature's sign, moment of delight
my eyes gaze upon your rare sight

skipping stones, pebbles of new hope
solitude expanding ones scope
allowing my heart to take flight
my eyes gaze upon your rare sight

author's note: I recently had this
encounter and I wanted to bring
honor to the journey...
can you see him?

  1. Hi Truedessa,

I really like your poem and its images here. I feel that you have invited us to some private and mystical location on your end where you go for peace and serenity. The forest is always a great place to escape to on a Sunday or Saturday. thanks for this.

  3. He's in the back
Unless my eyes are out of whack
    Long neck sticking up
    Sure isn't a pup
    And nice flow
    But that you know

Thanks, that is indeed a feathered friend. I felt a pull to look downstream and then I saw him standing in the stillness.

  7. Lovely images, in words and pictures. I do see but cannot recognise. In every other respect, that creek might be one near where I live.

  9. I couldn't see it at first, but then I looked a bit harder... and Magic! I love that having to take time to look for that beautiful bird made the delight of seeing it even stronger. I reread the poem after the look, and found my recent excitement (and gratitude) in your words.

    1. Thanks for seeing all the signs.. I saw many others as well. The bridge caught my eye immediately. I was some distance away but, saw the heron or should I say felt him? I then moved in for a closer look.
