Searching for Signs!

Pic credit - personal collection

searching for signs among the rocks
drifting far from the wooden docks
watching waves break under my feet
catching the oceans rhythm and beat

whispering in the breeze  my dreams
high floating clouds filtered sunbeams
my words melt in the mid-day heat
catching the oceans rhythm and beat

sparkling message, hidden from view
salted tears, my heart thinks of you
vast sea lost wandering souls meet
catching the oceans rhythm and beat

searching for signs among the rocks
catching the oceans rhythm and beat

Author's note: I was on the coast
climbing some rocks and found
this hidden gift.

Trying my hand at a Kyrielle Sonnet

  1. I like the idea of searching for/ finding signs. I think if we spend time in nature for a while the message will become more and more clear.

  7. I see this both as a metaphor and as the fisherman's wife waiting at sea... lovely effect of the repetition.

  10. When you listen and get the beat I'm sure the world lifts up treasures - poetically and fossil-ly - especially when those tears sting and we need a little light and hope

  12. One of the most beautiful things to do is walk by the oceans shore and observe the sea alive, the birds flying overhead, the shifting sands and the message of the rocks and know true happiness. What a treat to visit you today.

    1. Yes, I do enjoy a walk along the shore too bad I don't live closer to the ocean.
