Pieced Together With Love

Pablo Picasso - Girl with a Mandolin

I.

naked and vulnerable
offering you fragments
of my heart

II.

strumming heartstrings
seductively pulling you
into my embrace

III

music opens our world
together we are in tune
a work of art

IV

upon soft lips, a song
blooms under moonlight
in desert sands

V

sipping Merlot, black cherry
& sweet plums, savoring
the moment we become
unstrung

VI

touching the curves of my body
softly stroking my neck
loving fingers, dancing to
the rhythm of desire

VII

holding on to dreams, our songs
we dare to soar  beyond the stars
discovering the mystery of us
drifting in a musical eclipse

authors note: I was inspired by
this artwork and of course I
put my own spin on this
cubist style poem.

Thanks for visiting!

  1. Gone, gone, gone beyond, gone completely beyond... (the Heart Sutra), came to mind when I read these wonderful gems.

  2. This is beautiful, but
    ' sipping Merlot, black cherry
    & sweet plums, savoring
    the moment we become
    unstrung'
sang loudest and sweetest to me today. Thank you.

Isn't that sensuously romantic. It certainly looks also a cubist take, True!

  15. One of your very best poems, T--super sensual, yet tender beyond belief. Picasso, quite the Lothario, would certainly want to flirt with you after reading this.
