Willow Flute & Golden Lute

free images

I open my ears so I might hear
the songs of the willow flute
all my troubles seem to disappear
hidden in the rifts of a golden lute

come, my love let us drift away
into a sea of sweet ecstasy
harmony is only a dream away
together composing our destiny

I open my ears so I might hear
the songs of the willow flute

our words,  a collection of lyrics
spoken from the inner heart
energizing our emerging spirit
romanticism an evolving art

come, my love let us drift away
into a sea of sweet ecstasy
harmony is only a dream away
together composing our destiny

all my troubles seem to disappear
hidden in the riffs of a golden lute

  4. Hi Truedessa - that's what I want to find right now:

I open my ears so I might hear
the songs of the willow flute
all my troubles seem to disappear
hidden in the rifts of a golden lute

Wonderful poem ... excellent ... "just dissolve into the song of the willow flute" ... cheers Hilary

  7. Your poem is so light and airy, Truedessa, and I can hear the music in your words! It reminds me a little of Christopher Marlowe's 'A Passionate Shepherd to his Love'.

  10. So lovely & lyrical. I adore the music of the willow flute, especially Native American songs/prayers. Your romantic word smithing has lightened my day, as snow has come to the Northwest.

  15. Very late to the reading, apologies. Was cavorting over the extended weekend with my grandchildren.
Do love your take on the prompt...it's almost lilting. And the refrains add that much more musical energy to it. Lovely!
