Beneath Winter's Blanket

Winter Landscape by True

beneath winter's moon
blanketing me with your warmth
soaring the heavens

whispering your name
dreaming of a lover's song
my heart touching yours

love a symphony
soothing music to my ears
finding the right key

lost in the movements
my soul melting into yours
entwined poetry

together in tune
salvation in morning light
freedom in our eyes

So Much More Than You Can See

artist unknown

dreaming beneath soft falling snow
in early dawn red rooster crows
on wide wings mysteries unfurl
awakening to a shifting world

creating angels in fields of white
synchronicity with the hawk's flight
watching snowflakes flutter & swirl
awakening to a shifting world

behold a vision of nature's steeples
chanting songs of hope for all people
embracing light, dreams dew-pearled
awakening to a shifting world

A Dream Allegory

Photo by Lacie Slezak on Unsplash

Writing from the book of life he pens a tale
linking and inking imagery with words
leaving pieces of himself along the trail
setting the mood with tantalizing verbs

He enchants her in a dance of words
She enchants him in magical dreams

beneath a starry sky, she gently dreams
connecting with the universe and beyond
caught in a world of symbolism, it seems
storyteller and dreamer naturally bond

may his heart always hold a story
may hers always hold a dream...
together creating a dream-allegory

each on a journey, seeking paradise
their eyes take in the peripheral view
beneath golden moon, speechless in flight
he touches her inside in that place of blue

He enchants her in a dance of words
She enchants him in magical dreams

kindred souls breathing life into the night
airbrushing poetry across the sky
in an unknown tongue, verses they write
lost in the moment, dreams in their eyes

may his heart always hold a story
may hers always hold a dream...
together creating a dream-allegory

From Cupped Hands

I cup water in the palms of my hands
ripples of you and I cascade over
     and through my fingers...

I breathe in the sunset air to
  the clap, clap, clap of
    birch limbs...

in my pocket, thanksgiving walnuts
a humble offering to the squirrels
   scurrying to and fro
      preparing for winter

I sit cross legged on a mossy bank
  of understanding, a gentle wind
    offers healing energies

Wild geese gather watching/listening
waiting for nature's orchestra to chime
in to the clap, CLap, CLaP  of an ancient
song, creating harmony in the water

I catch a glimpse of you...soaring overhead
the hawk, surveys the landscape below...

       I am here
         I am here
          I AM HERE

just as a deer pants for waters of life
I too thirst for a drink of blessed water
come sit with me, I will fill your cup
with the songs of my heart

Garden of the Gods ~ 'Rocks' Formation

photo - Wikipedia

I yearn to walk the garden path
listening to the whispers
of red and salmon rocks

reading petroglyphs, along the
trail, bread crumbs baked
in the desert sun
spiritual nourishment
climbing higher
seeking  the crossroad
to peace

over the horizon the
mysterious phoenix flies

Mish is hosting at dVerse
writing a quadrille incorporating
the word "Rock"
