Waves of Melancholy

Greeted by grey waves, there is a sense of wonderment in an ominous sky. Heavy clouds hover chasing the blues away.  Standing on  mossy rocks listening to the ocean's riffs.  Thunderous roar water crashing, my heart beats, thumpadumpa, deep and gutsy. Breaking the silence of a melancholy mood.  The gulls soar intuitively into unknown realms. Heaven heaves a sigh,  rain falls washing the debris of the day away.

Winter Lingers

snowfall
blanketing earth
spring gardens, sleeping deep
awaiting the songs of new life
rebirth

She Built a Nest, To Give Her a Place of Rest

artwork by Catrin Welz-Stein

She built a nest within her head
in hopes to hatch new dreams
creating a kingdom, a fortress
keeping her safe, until her knight
finds  his way to her....

She built a nest within her head
in the palm of her hand a songbird
under dazzling starlight, songs
echo through whispering trees
sonnets of love filling misty air

She built a nest within her head
dancing under golden moonlight
on feather light feet, embracing
distant melodies, poetic verses
spilling from her heart

She built a nest within her head
dreaming of romantic courtship
in a garden of roses, a troubadour
gently strums a seductive tapestry
of sound...

She built a nest within her head
woven with love twig by twig
held together with earthly soil
an intricate design to weather
the storms of her mind...

She built a nest within her head
in hopes to hatch new dreams
creating a kingdom, a fortress
a place for her to rest
a place for her to believe

Murmuring Skies

sunrise - wikimedia

In an early morning dew
tired,  she awoke feeling blue
in silence, she murmured, "why"
in an airbrushed sky, a gentle reply
take in the view, open your eyes
over the horizon, your dragon flies
in brilliant hues, her heart sighed
"thank-you",  she replied

Awash in Dreams

Lost Boat - Pinterest

opening the canvas of her mind
leaving old memories behind
riding tides of love, tis her choice
listening for the tones of his voice

dreams sail beyond the horizon
whispering into the vast silence
heart awash, floating in new hope
seeing beyond the human scope

lulled by the gulls, oceanic tune
singing under a clementine moon
she reaches for a pearly dream
awakening in heavens gleam

Feeling Insecure, How About You!

I'm a bit insecure, yes it's true
I try to deny it , I try to hide it
but,  dreams I still have a few
seeking a place for words to fit

sometimes, I write a song
hoping you will catch the beat
hoping you  will sing along
before the moments obsolete

perhaps, we're all insecure
pitching our stories every day
hoping  to feel more secure
keeping strong, paves the way

I'm a bit insecure, how about you
do you try to deny it, try to hide it
but,  dreams we all have a few
seeking a place for words to fit

sometimes, I write poetry
my words forming verses
branching out, a giving tree
reaching beyond the surface

perhaps, we're all insecure
pitching our stories every day
hoping to feel more secure
keeping strong, having our say

I'm a bit insecure, yes it's true
I try to deny it, I try to hide it
but,  dreams I still have a few
seeking a place for words to fit
