Adieu Flu

Dear Flu,

There is no easy way to say this, but
you are disruptive and really bug me
producing chaos everywhere you  travel...
infiltrating my mind, body and spirit
causing an inner battle between cells
you really need solitary confinement

Exhausted, I just want to sleep, but NO
cough
    COUGH
       COUGH

sneeze, sneeze, SNEEZE & WHEEZE
in fits of fever, visions take form
and all becomes UNclear...

sipping  chicken soup for the soul
inspiration in each spoonful of noodles
drinking honey and chamomile tea
trying to find relief, I just want to breathe

You arrived uninvited, an intruder
seriously, you make me feel ill
It's now time for you to leave.  I've
packed your germ filled bags,  consider
this your eviction notice...

 your unhappy host....

  1. "drinking honey and chamomile tea" good anytime. The same "bug" has been making the rounds at our house too. Hope you feel better soon.

  4. Evict the germy thing and pitch it in the sea. Never fun. Hopefully it is on its way out.

  5. Oh, i am sorry to hear you have been ill. I enjoyed the poem and hope you are soon feeling better. By the way, i dreamed of Pup early the other morning. I so rarely do, and it was so lovely to see him in my dream.
