So Much More Than You Can See

artist unknown

dreaming beneath soft falling snow
in early dawn red rooster crows
on wide wings mysteries unfurl
awakening to a shifting world

creating angels in fields of white
synchronicity with the hawk's flight
watching snowflakes flutter & swirl
awakening to a shifting world

behold a vision of nature's steeples
chanting songs of hope for all people
embracing light, dreams dew-pearled
awakening to a shifting world

  1. You have painted something stunningly beautiful and imbued it with a lovely tranquility ... and hope. A wonderful place to linger, for a bit.

  2. No one creates dreamlike images quite like you do, Truedessa. Creating angels in fields of white brings back memories of my childhood. I wonder if children create snow angels anymore....sigh.

    1. I don't know if they do Mary, but I saw a football player make one in the snow today during a game. It made me smile watching that big guy in his uniform making a snow angel.

    3. There was a game in Buffalo NY that was played in white out conditions, some Buffalo players made snow angels in the field after they won. I will see if I can find a clip and post it. Truly inspiring!

  3. Making snow angels. Is there a more innocent joy.

Snowed here this weekend. The fields look like iced oatmeal cookies.

I hope all those people find that hope.

  4. The purity and beauty of a snowfall makes the world all new. I wish it could do that to humans, too, smiles. Maybe in a way, it does.

The measure of helplessness may not be all encompassing with hope hovering in the distance. Beautiful shot True!

  10. Just to shift the world in the right direction could be a dream of many indeed. Hope through the darkness.

  11. You have such a way with repetition... a kind of magic that suggests that the repeated words are completely necessary and different every time. I love that... as much as I love crafting spark-filled angels as the earth awakens...

  14. As always, your imagery is fantastic. Reminds me of being in the woods after snowfall. There's something serene about that crisp cold, white snow, and those towering trees. Thank you for sharing.

  17. This beautiful poem reminded me of one Easter morning, before dawn, when some friends and I climbed a mountain and sat, meditating on its slopes, waiting for the sun to rise.........it was the only time in meditation that I actually lifted off. I could see, with eyes closed, the world from far above. I saw the blue and green, and lights shooting up - and I knew that all over the world, other people were meditating and praying, too. Somehow I knew that those lights were the prayers of the people......everyone praying for peace. I hope they are praying now.
