Reflections

The Sunday Muse

 A Reason

If you came into my life for a reason
I thank you for hearing the call
sharing your time and energy
bringing forth healing

I thank you for bringing a song
on the wings of love, so I might
once again hear the melody of life

I thank you for bringing me the gift
of poetry that allowed my voice
to be heard

I thank you for bringing me the wonders
of a story with characters I can believe in

A Season

If you came into my life for a season
I thank you for hearing the call
sharing your gifts in times
of transition

I thank you for bringing me spring
  cherry blossoms in bloom
a reminder of renewal & rebirth

I thank you for bringing me summer
blue skies and abundant light
warm days to revitalize
my soul

I thank you for bringing me autumn
bursting with color and change
preserving all the essentials
needed for the journey ahead

I thank you for bringing me winter
time to sleep and dream in the beauty
of fresh fallen snow, the circle of
life.

A Lifetime

If you came into my life for a lifetime
I thank you for bringing your strength
and unconditional love and support

I thank you for bringing me the gift
of strong roots, so we might grow
as spiritual beings in a vast universe
of unknown beauty. Exploring beyond
the scope of our natural eyes and to
raise our consciousness to the vibration
of love.

I thank you for bringing me the gift
of yourself, standing with me in the
good and bad times, soul to soul
heart to heart

author's note:  I wrote this a couple of years ago but, it seems
appropriate to post again. I have revised it a bit. The last year has
been difficult people have come and gone in my life but, I hold
a special place for all who have touched my life and heart.

Peace, light and love always

Wishing you a new year filled with hope and love

Winter Solstice

Winter solstice a time of darkness

Jupiter and Saturn put on a display

in stillness, I can hear the drum

thump, thump,

    thump, thump

we join together in the name of peace

to heal our inner self & community

with the help of the medicine wheel

the sacred hoop

moving in a sun-wise direction

we are connected in the circle of life

aligning with the power of light

in unity with the sun and moon

calling on the four directions, father sky

mother earth and the spiritual tree

to guide us in our journey towards

change

our limbs bare and tired, shadows

of who and what we have become

winter draws near and we slowly

turn inward, a time of restoration

are your roots firmly planted in the

rich earth to weather the storms

of life,  do you drink from the well

of understanding

the veil of darkness surrounds us

but, we sing praises to the night

and to the light, to appreciate light

you must know darkness and vice

versa, they are connected

in winters sojourn, we will make

new tracks in the fresh fallen

snow, and in the spring when the

loneliness melts we will open our

hearts to new possibilities

thump, thump

   thump, thump

medicine wheel, earthwheel

we are in need of healing and

change if we are to survive

Time & Love - There's Never Enough

Laura Nyro

I was born with music in my soul
lyrical songs and poetry in my heart
dreams sometimes, I can't control
this sea of emotions, tears me apart
passionate journeys often get tough
two things I've learned in this life
time and love, there's never enough
precious are these, hold them tight

oh my love, let me sing you a  song
hopefully, I can right some wrongs
in the game of love, were we pawns

harmony is often difficult to achieve
life's tempo is constantly changing
wandering spirits, needing to believe
penning words, our notes are aging
songs have a beginning and end
romantic ballads, echo through time
singing the blues, music can transcend
somewhere, I dreamt you were mine

oh my love, let me sing you a  song
hopefully, I can right some wrongs
in the game of love, were we pawns

I was born with music in my soul
lyrical songs and poetry in my heart
dreams sometimes, I can't control
a sea of emotions, tears me apart
passionate journeys  often gets tough
two things I've learn in this strange life
time and love, there's never enough
precious are they, hold them tight

oh my love, let me sing you a  song
hopefully, I can right some wrongs
in the game of love, were we pawns

Time and love there's never enough
time and love there's never enough
time and love there's never enough

precious are they, hold them tight.....

Mysterious Sea

Port, Ships, Fishing Boat, Sea, Sky

It was a warm summer day you could smell the salt air wafting towards port. Tourists
lined the docks adventures stirring in their souls.  Sightseeing the name of the game.
Whales and dolphins can be seen for a price.  Carefully, read the fine print, it clearly
states no guarantees and absolutely no refunds.  Walking up the plank with a dream
in their hearts. The thrill of an up close encounter with the largest mammal of the sea.

Nearby, charter boats offer deep sea fishing adventures. Claiming you can even reel
in a blue shark.  Anglers load the vessels with hopes of hooking the catch of the day.
Pausing, I contemplated the contrast between the two groups.  There were those who
wished to observe the beautiful creatures and those that wished to conquer the
creatures of the sea.

A couple of years ago I was in Rhode Island and contemplated taking one of those whale
watching tours.  Nearby, there were charter fishing boats promising big catches such as sharks. I never did go as the water was choppy that summer day.  I am not sure how the sea-travelers made out but,  I hope the sharks found deeper waters that day.

a warm fire crackled in the inglenook

my mind wandered to a fantasy book

pages filled with dreams unfulfilled

ghosts of yesterday, the air chilled

pages written under the stars & moon

all that remains is a sorrowful tune

dreams now burnt to ash

Pale is the Morning Mist

Courtesy - The Sunday Muse

If you climb the highest mountain peak

you might find me floating in the clouds

here, you can hear the evergreens speak

heaven filled with consonants and vowels

hearing wisdom in  natures songs for peace

for this is the way of the ancient dreamers

healing the earth, destruction must cease

stars  begin aligning,  are you a believer

pale is the morning mist after a dark night

soaring on wings , high above the earth

stretching syllables towards morning light

waiting for messages of love to emerge

Happy Sunday Dear Friends

Thank you for visiting

I recently read that Jupiter and Saturn will align during
the winter solstice.  This rare event hasn't taken place
in 800 years.

As a stargazer I will be out looking heavenward on December 21st.

I am reminded of this song today - crying here - simply beautiful
