In a twinkling sky, a harvest moon shines
far beyond the stars, a dragon takes flight
soaring on ample wings, two hearts align
frequency of love, vibrates in the night
Navigator seeking treasures unknown
wherever you fly she'll be by your side
during darkness, you'll never be alone
shadowing dreams on a mystical ride
Captain, guardian of the dragon lair
with honor, offering his heart and soul
magical dreams, lyrical songs to share
wavering, on the bridge of self control
Seeking a place where they truly belong
falling in the embrace of a lover's song

Author's note: Written for someone
special who believes in dragons!
Dragon is unwavering as it goes about it's way, helping to shine through a brighter day.
ReplyDeleteThat it does, unwavering in its mission.
DeleteLove the accompanyment, love the temptation, and the embrace of song.
ReplyDelete"wavering, on the bridge of self control"
Thanks Susan! Perhaps, it is in the unsteadiness that one finds the true magic
DeleteI do so wish to believe in dragons after reading this wonderful sonnet.
ReplyDeleteYou only need to believe Bjorn! The magic will find you...
DeleteAll the words you've used regarding the Dragon - and those capture your feelings best!
ReplyDeleteThe Dragon, will always remain dear!
DeleteSo beautiful, the poem, and being there for another.
ReplyDeleteStrength comes in many forms...
DeleteTo believe in dragons is special - and to have it in words even more so
ReplyDeleteBelieving is what releases the magic inside...
DeleteI do believe in dragons. I need to believe in dragons.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
And Alex.
DeleteI believe in Dragons and Alex!
DeleteWonderfully composed sonnet.
ReplyDeleteElegant how you combined magic and love
Hi Martin,
DeleteThanks for your kind words. Magic and love seem to come hand in hand.
This is pure magic, Truedessa.
ReplyDeleteI would like to believe in magic too!
I meant I would like to believe in DRAGONS too, but perhaps they are magical as well. Smiles.
DeleteHi Mary,
DeleteWhy not believe in magic and dragons? smiles..
Love is always better with dragons in it. One will never be cold...
ReplyDeleteah, that is true as they are filled with fiery heat..
DeleteAh, I like that "transporting" into a portal of magic..
ReplyDeletenice! I'm always up for a legend!
ReplyDeleteBrother Ollie, why be ordinary when you can be legendary? Someone once said that to me and your words made me think of it :)
DeleteSeeking a place where they truly belong
ReplyDeletefalling in the embrace of lover's song
There is always that feeling of solace and hope yearned for that everyone seeks. It is a question of being terrified when faced with difficulties or satisfied after having found peace.
Hank
Hank, you are always perceptive and see more than most!
DeleteBecause you've penned great lines that started it, Ma'am!
DeleteHank
I love that dragon... :)
ReplyDeleteZQ
Me Too! Who know where he will soar next?
DeleteLovely. Your words are so mesmerizing ... they float off the page and carry your reader to a ...sigh ... magical place.
ReplyDeleteWendy, if I can take the reader to a magical place than that brings me joy. Thank you!
DeleteMaybe this is just a weird interpretation, but it sounds almost like a knight and a dragon fell in love and have run away together.
ReplyDeletehaha - perhaps a knight guides a dragon and the navigator is a lady who favours the knight?
DeleteI have worked with a number of dragons and all I want to do is escape them:)
ReplyDeleteThis dragon is special!
DeleteSeeking a place where they truly belong
ReplyDeletefalling in the embrace of a lover's song
Sigh.. beautiful!!💖
Thank you Sanaa!
DeleteHi Truedessa - I'm sure the dragon is a legend of the stars ... and will remain on high for many a century yet ... love your thought process here ... cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteHi Hilary - Yes, that dragon will remain a legend.
DeleteOh yes, we believe in dragons. We have to, in a world such as this. What a beautiful journey you painted here.
ReplyDeleteWhat's not beautiful is that we just figured out that somehow we had stopped following you, which is why your posts weren't showing up in our feed and we're always slow to get here. Please don't have the dragon burn us to a crisp - we fixed it (I think!).
Hey Guys,
DeleteWe do need to believe in dragons. I am glad you were able to fix the follow thingy. No, worries the dragon will not burn you...
This is a lovely sonnet to a flight of dreams, Trudessa
ReplyDeleteThank you for dropping in at my Sunday Standard this week

thanks for the invite, I will check it out!
DeleteLove the mystisism (no doubt spelt wrong) and love and magic woven together.
ReplyDeleteJulian, thanks you for feeling the mysticism. thank you for visiting.
DeleteBut how does one know where one truly belongs?
ReplyDeleteI think one will know as it will feel right, you will know inside and your life will align. Of course, I could be wrong as I am a misfit..
DeleteIf you're a misfit, I'm a misfit.
DeleteI guess we are misfits together...
DeleteThis was so beautiful to read. Thanks for sharing!
