Swirls of Blue - I Give You Imagination

Starry Night - Van Gogh

In swirls of blue, I dream
outside the boundaries of life
under a starry sky and yellow
daffodil moon...
I see universal possibilities
beyond the church steep(le)
stretching to the heavens
I hear the songs of nature;
hills and trees whisper
promises of hope

written for dVerse
Quadrille # 72

incorporating the word Steep

  4. Steeple - clever!
Where there is hope, there is always endless possibilities.

  6. I think we need to see possibilities beyond the steeple, as I interpreted this to mean beyond the building of a church...especially if that imagination leads to realities.

  8. I loved the use of "steep(le)." And who can find fault with that illustration?

  9. Wonderful ekphrastic. That night sky does always light with both hope and powerful mystery for me. I love
"In swirls of blue, I dream

    outside the boundaries of life"

This is the 5th poem this prompt that features dreaming. Y'all help me figure out the connection of dreams with "steep" is it hard to climb the sharp inclines of the morning? Also I think steeple is a perfect use of the prompt word, no need for the parentheses in my book, but the parentheses do focus the reader on how a steeple inclines, pointing to the larger sky, and possibilities.

  10. I love how you focused on the sky behind the steeple.. just like Vincent, a message maybe seeing all the churches cannot give us.
