baby, I read your notes
as you played on black & white keys
catching a high in your melody
on a rose covered float
your words music to my ears
speaking in a tongue, I understand
lost in a gentle shower of tears
petals fall in a rose covered land
harmony between the
sheets
fingers striking
various chords
pounding rhythm of
my heart beat
angels dance in the house of lords
messages of love bittersweet
baby, I read your notes
as you played on black & white keys
catching a high in your melody
on a rose covered float
harmony between the
sheets

That must've been an incredible melody he played...
ReplyDeletesmiles... if the harmony goes beyond the music sheets it's even better... love me someone who knows how to play well
ReplyDeleteOh I want such harmony.. Sheets of music turning to joy between the sheets. ;-)
ReplyDeleteHarmony, yes, the eternal goal.
ReplyDeletefingers striking various chords
ReplyDeletepounding rhythm of my heart beat
There certainly is harmony there!. Wonderful lines Truedessa!
Hank
It is good when the music speaks to the intended and they get it, especially if playing is a passion. And when that music is in rhythm with your own heart as well. Ha nice double play on meaning there in that last line as well.
ReplyDeleteI admire the refraining verses and lines, harmony between the sheets ~
ReplyDeleteA sweet love note & romantic to the musical ear ~ Thanks for linking up with D'verse Truedessa ~
Harmony is what we strive for in a relationship, isn't it? This is surely reflected in your harmonious words.
ReplyDeleteAh, those black and white keys play colorful tunes! Harmonic or dissonant, depending on the day. Hopefully always harmonious between the sheets!
ReplyDeleteI love what you did with the double meanings in "notes" and "sheets." Sheet music, bed sheets, sheets of paper. Musical notes, written notes. Also, if you split "notes" in half, you get "no tease." So there's no tease here; these two people are definitely together.
ReplyDeleteI like this very much.
ah... the piano... the perfect metaphor for this... wish I had thought of it!
ReplyDeleteSomehow, although B&W is the hook here, you have awakened & included fire, in the red rose & in your own body (& ours); so very romantic & sensual. One can only hope that this fellow is real, & the sonata he played was upon your lovely person.
ReplyDeleteA melody that will sure stick with one through the night into the day light
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, romantic....and I love how well the repeated line works.
ReplyDeletePowerfully sensual--using those piano keys was a great idea for a perfect "harmonious" metaphor.
ReplyDeleteOh.. true.. the piano can be a wonderful
ReplyDeletetool of expressing true love..
and for me not with
much talk.. 'then'..
it is pArt of a ticket
to a 25 year wife..
(she is 19 then..)

The black & white keys in a piano, i love that notion. You've written a passionate piece, Truedesa, that is almost like a song---romantic & deep! The part that includes the angels dance is my favourite part in here. Lovely!
ReplyDeletePiano keys seem to be a popular topic for this prompt. And yet each poem is different. I enjoyed this one. Peace, Linda
ReplyDeleteHey Truedessa!
ReplyDeleteHarmony and me, are pretty good company. The keys are the key to your piano harmony.
Nicely done, thoughtful one.
Gary :)
So many musical entendres. I love it. This definitely did not fall flat or end on a sour note.
ReplyDeleteI love it more. Angels dance in the house of lords...
