smooth neck, sliding up and down
in a rhythmic motion
gently plucks her fragile
strings
with razor sharp precision
she yields to his callused fingers
her curvaceous glossy
body warms against his skin
creating a soft melody of
insatiable desire, melting
into a rhapsody
coarse, hot and jagged notes
amplify their song in a star-studded
night
he knows how to rock her world
I love it! I love how you developed the double meaning that flows through your poem. Well Done
ReplyDeleteThis poem and Dwight's need to meet for a coffee! Seriously, though, I love the sensuous textures - especially liked the warming body, that was a little unexpected - and you pull the theme through to the end beautifully.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully ambiguous!
ReplyDeleteDelightful. You leads us nicely up two paths!
ReplyDeleteThat is sure one tune to which two can swoon
ReplyDelete"rocking her world" great line that pulls it all together
ReplyDeleteTruedessa, whether your lover was playing a guitar, or you, the sensuality was beautiful. Great piece... :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Mary, what a kaleidoscope of wonderful textures. Excellent write...:-)
I remember back in the 1970s, when female rock guitarists like Nancy Wilson and Joan Jett were borderline controversial because they played electric guitar. Electric guitars were considered more appropriate for men to play (although acoustic guitars were asexual, y'might say). Your poem took this so-called masculine instrument and gave it a feminine quality. Love it!
ReplyDeleteHi Truedessa - this evocatively brought out so many senses ... positively delightful - cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteFor the love of music!
ReplyDeleteLove how you and Roth had the same thought... though with the softness of your player I thought more of a cello at first.
ReplyDeleteI like the description of his playing with "razor sharp precision" and the guitar's yielding to calloused fingers.
