Lily of the Valley for Dverse May 28, 2013

pic from Wikipedia

Lily of the Valley

A tear was wept a sign of purity from the start
healing release of a troubled heart
white bell shape so delicate in design
in stillness you can hear the chimes of the divine

Though you lie low in the shadow of the earthly valley
your beauty adds completeness to the gallery
protector against evil spirits in anyone’s garden
your best defense, your sweet alluring scent

Filling our heads with a heavenly aroma
inducing black spirits into a long deep coma
radiating assurance to those whom are sad
that the return of happiness is always at hand

Delicate emotions of the heart can be mended
an overflowing spirit can meet needs
expectations and dreams grow from a seed
in a life of misfortune, you remind us that
Love is the ultimate “Fortune”

author's note: I wrote this in memory of my grandmother and her birthday was this week. I know she is watching from the upper world.

  1. Sounds like a great person she was indeed
    And missed at your feed
But then memories are always there
    To cherish at your lair
A little late for dVerse too
    Shame on you..lol
    Had to put that
    And once more top cat

    1. Hi Pat,

Yes, I am late such is my fate
but, what can I do, I was feeling blue
you are always top cat at my mat
and you know that is a fact

      Have a great day!

    2. Whenever you're feeling blue
      You know what to do...
Top Cat's right: memories are always there
Now, tomorrow and when none of us have hair
Life's a bit unfair at our lair
It's tougher than playing truth or dare
Sometimes a memory make us stare
Into the void like someone's there
      Someone for us to care
      Someone for us to admire
      Whose fate was somewhat dire,
      Tough and cruel
Making us look like a fool
      And drown in a pool
      Or pretend we are cool
When it's pain that we feel
      Which may never quite heal
Love is all that beats a stash of cash
      Until we, too, crash.

    4. @Blue thanks for the note
I agree memories are always there
to help us get through the blues
      perhaps, love can ease pain
I am sure it is more comforting
      than a stash of cash..

  4. It has been so long since I've enjoyed the wonderful fragrance that lilies of the valley offer to us. We've not had success with them here, but I wonder if I grow them inside...? Thank you for reminding me of them.

  6. A tenderly, sincerely felt memorial nicely composed.
She will be touched by the eloquence of your tribute . . . but she's probably already told you that.

  13. Sweet memories from those who've gone before us allow gentle passing of traditions, knowledge, mistakes, solutions, wisdom from one generation to another. So publish them we must.

Thank you for a quiet celebration of Grandma's life!
