Greeted by grey waves, there is a sense of wonderment in
an ominous sky. Heavy clouds hover chasing the blues away. Standing on
mossy rocks listening to the ocean's riffs. Thunderous roar water crashing, my heart beats, thumpadumpa, deep and gutsy. Breaking the silence of a melancholy mood.
The gulls soar intuitively into unknown realms. Heaven heaves a sigh,
rain falls washing the debris of the day away.
misty messages
connecting heaven and earth
dancing in the rain
dancing in the rain

Sorry you are having a melancholy day but we all have them. This haibu n came across as meditative. I love the last line of your prose.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on five years of blogging, kiddo. I am so happy to have met you through your poems, your dreams, your vision. This morning I watched SIX eagles circling on the air currents, a glorious sight, and a promising one. Your poem is beautiful. Have a peaceful evening.
ReplyDeleteHi Truedessa - congratulations on five years of being here ... but sad to read about your melancholy ... let's hope it fades quickly once the weather warms up ... take care and all the best Hilary
ReplyDeleteFive years - awesome! May tomorrow bring a brighter day and your spirits soaring like a dragon's.
ReplyDeleteThe very sights and sounds of the ocean are grey - it is my new neutral color. When I decorate next, those subdued colors are what I want to paint with. Beautiful poem
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on five years of blogging. I too am having a melancholy day, which you have reflected so wonderfully in your 'misty messages'. We have rain - I'd better get dancing!
ReplyDeleteMay the waves crash in with fun. Congrats on 5 years being spun.
ReplyDeleteFunny, I didn't find any melancholy in your poem, it seemed full of energy to me. You must be more upbeat than you thought.
ReplyDeleteThis so made me want to stand beside the sea, absorbing what the seashore had to say! Alas, I'm landlocked in middle America, so I must thank you for my voyeuristic moment.
ReplyDeleteSounds like the ocean's riff's are Bluesy ones. Evocative piece.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Jane... the haibun felt more calm than melancholy but it's wonderful to have be five years in blogging...
ReplyDeleteHello True,
ReplyDeleteWonderfully said
Watch out for those gulls overhead
Well done on five years
Here's some cheers.
Gary, Gary, nary contrary....
I liked your haibun, the descriptions are well done.
ReplyDeleteHang in there, go with the gulls.
Happy 5 years! I'm sorry you're having a melancholy day! I hope tomorrow is better for you!
ReplyDeleteI love the way you describe everything! I could feel the wind and the water!
congratulations on the blogging journey. this gave me good chills.
ReplyDeleteHappy 5th! I hope your mood's better than when you posted this.
ReplyDeleteI like the line "Heavy clouds hover chasing the blues away." They may be chasing the "blue" away literally, but not necessarily chasing the blue mood away.
