I love the form this poem took ending each stanza with such beautiful words; rebirth, peaceful springtime....they say it all for me as I am deep in winters sleep waiting for the wake up call.
ReplyDeleteThank you Donna, I too am awaiting spring.
DeleteI feel it's all on the verge. You painted a lingering lull of winter. Sort of how I feel when I wake up in the morning!
ReplyDeleteI woke up to a snowy view, while very beautiful I am ready for spring.
DeleteSo beautiful. Your poem set me dreaming.
ReplyDeleteMay your dreams be good ones :)
DeleteHiding away works for me with crummy winter back to see haha spring needs to come.
ReplyDeleteDid you get snow as well Pat? Ugh...
DeleteHi Truedessa - lovely to read ... especially as we've just had a dusting of the white stuff ... Spring is coming though - cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteI am watchful for signs of spring.
DeleteGreat rhythm. Spring will come soon.
ReplyDeleteI hope so Alex!
DeleteThis is beautiful! I can picture those mourning doves...💖
ReplyDeleteThere were a pair in a tree outside my window this morning.
DeleteAlong with the doves, I am ready for spring!
ReplyDeleteHopefully, it won't be much longer until we have warmer days.
DeleteI actually enjoy winter right now... spring can wait a bit. Skating is fun
ReplyDeleteEnjoy you skating Bjorn, I haven't skated in a long time.

ReplyDeletethrashing in the throes of a dream
springtime
All are just itching and 'thrashing' for the greenery again. Lingering winter seems to impose its will for far too long! Quite true, True!
Hank
Yes Hank I am ready for spring to arrive, budding trees and chirping birds.
DeleteEach line "poignant"

Thanks ZQ
DeleteThe first two verses almost make me like winter. (smiles) But the last one makes me yearn for spring!
ReplyDeleteHi Mary, there is beauty in winter, but I am just ready for warmer days.
DeleteWonderfully constructed ... a beautiful and melodious piece.
ReplyDeleteThanks Wendy!
DeleteYou paint a serene, peaceful scene of the seasons. I like "passion hibernating".
ReplyDeleteI think passion does hibernate in the winter. It makes one feel a bit sluggish, I guess the crisp air can be invigorating,
DeleteReally lovely cinquains Trudessa.
ReplyDeleteMuch💖love
Thanks Gillena! Have a wonderful week.
DeleteYou know cinquains can become very addictive:) Summers go by quickly and winters seem immeasurably long. I can imagine how you are all waiting for Spring in the northern hemisphere...it wont be long now.
ReplyDeleteSmiling, cinquains are addicting..you can say a lot in so few words.
DeleteWhat a strange winter in Northern New Mexico? It has been cold at night and early morning, but by midmorning, it is a nice as can be. So little snow. I miss the usual winter! It seems to have skipped us this year. So, when spring comes, it will be too soon. Winter, we hardly knew you.
ReplyDeleteWell, here winter has graced us with snow, wind and brutally cold days. I am ready for a bit of sunshine. Funny, I never thought of New Mexico as a cold place with snow.
DeleteWonderful words of winter.
ReplyDeleteThe idea of passion thrashing in the throes of a dream is intoxicating. Lovely!
