the blues have a way of hitting you hard
especially when you hear a weeping harp
they say it's all about rhythmic breathing
i think it's a bit like making love, engaging
mouth, lips and tongue in musical dialogue
releasing tension with each breath
Beautifully done and perfectly blue.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sherry, you know sometimes the blues soothes...
DeleteYou got the love blues ~ I like that musical dialogue ~
ReplyDeletehaha - I do enjoy the blues and musical dialogue is always enjoyable...
DeleteI have an affinity for musical poems. The blues are so deep and emotion filled. This is a superb piece, Truedessa,
ReplyDeleteThanks Walt, I think we were both feeling musical with this prompt, yours is very lovely.
DeleteInteresting seeing the act of playing the harp as stealing one's breath away.
ReplyDeletehmm, I changed the last line as I felt it was more about releasing tension than stealing breath, but again it could be about a lover who steals you heart away...pondering...
DeleteLove this harmonious blend.
ReplyDeleteHarmony with each breath...
DeleteI like to embrace the blues too, or maybe it's the other way around. Enjoyed the analogy of the blues to making love.
ReplyDeleteah, that is the question embracing the blues or the blues embracing you, either way it is an embrace..:)
DeleteThis is lovely!!❤️
ReplyDeleteThank you
Deleteengaging mouth, lips and
ReplyDeletetongue in musical dialogue
Isn't it sweet to be able to have all in unison to bring on the blues! Truly a musical thing!
Hank
the joy of harmonious music
Deletehaha well blues like that wouldn't be so blue to have.
ReplyDeleteHaha, it could shake the blues away
DeleteThe blues can mean so many things, you've accentuated the positive in making the blues for two.
ReplyDeleteThe blues can mean many things, but you know I do enjoy the bluesy beat
DeleteI wonder is there blue icecream to lather me in while playing blues music- then one of you ladies can do the rest. See how I bailed out of explaining myself, lol.
ReplyDeleteHmm I don't know, I'll leave that for someone else to discover
DeleteHow fun comparing playing the harmonica to making love.
ReplyDeleteIt's about the music
DeleteA musical dialog... Oh that's a sensation I know well...although I don't do Jazz. I mean I have, but my heart lies in orchestral pieces. (Notice, I didn't say classics, although I have my fair share of loves there too.)
ReplyDeleteLovely prose!
Hi Crystal, music really sets the spirit free no matter the genre. I do enjoy, jazz, blues, rock the list goes on. smiling.
DeleteI love me some blues. Fair rolls of the tongue this sweet poem.
ReplyDeleteMe too - enjoy those blues...
DeleteI think of harmonicas and hobos and the bluesy music by a campfire or the inside of a train car. Lovely image and sound
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your image and I imagine there is a harmonica just waiting to be played.
DeleteI love the blues. There is something so comforting about listening to a great blues tune, an "I'm not alone in this" feeling. You've captured it well here.
ReplyDeleteAh, yes many feel the blues and it is comforting to know you are not alone.
DeleteLove your explanation of the blues! Very nice.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI caught the subtle hidden hint
ReplyDeletevery clever
Hi Martin, Clever who me?
DeleteWhat a great metaphor for love-making. Well thought-out. And too often, the blues follow the act.
ReplyDeleteMaybe, I was feeling a bit blue as I was listening to some blues.
DeleteI really like this one. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI love the harmonic elements of this... especially the love-making metaphor. Lovely.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the visit, harmonic vibrations fill the air
DeleteLove this one – but then, I love the blues.
ReplyDeleteThere is just something special about those blues...
DeleteIt's a bit... like making love? So it is. Not that I would know for I'm blue all the time and it wouldn't be possible for any person to... well, you know 24/7.
ReplyDeleteHave fun tomorrow, True. Any plans?
I am a bit blue too! Maybe an indigo hue
DeleteFantastic way of describing a musical form!
ReplyDeletethank you
DeleteWhat a fun take. You made a very engaging image for the blues. :-)
