Embracing the Blues

artist unknown

the blues have a way of hitting you hard
especially when you hear  a weeping harp
they say it's all about rhythmic breathing
i  think it's a bit like making love, engaging
mouth, lips and tongue in musical dialogue
releasing tension with each breath

writing a Quadrille 44 words
incorporating the word breath

  4. Interesting seeing the act of playing the harp as stealing one's breath away.

    1. hmm, I changed the last line as I felt it was more about releasing tension than stealing breath, but again it could be about a lover who steals you heart away...pondering...

  12. A musical dialog... Oh that's a sensation I know well...although I don't do Jazz. I mean I have, but my heart lies in orchestral pieces. (Notice, I didn't say classics, although I have my fair share of loves there too.)

    Lovely prose!

  15. I love the blues. There is something so comforting about listening to a great blues tune, an "I'm not alone in this" feeling. You've captured it well here.

  21. It's a bit... like making love? So it is. Not that I would know for I'm blue all the time and it wouldn't be possible for any person to... well, you know 24/7.

Have fun tomorrow, True. Any plans?
