a lovely evocation of autumn and the often melancholy for the brilliance in colours; it's as if nature is shouting for joy and we feel an underlying sadness for it, even if it takes our breath away.
ReplyDeleteI really loved the last line - what a gorgeous image and idea - very uplifting!
Thank you! I do believe that trees have spirits and live among us in the journey.
DeleteAutumn definitely leaves a melancholy scented trail, doesn't it? It may be beautiful, but one cannot deny the melancholy within the beauty. Excellent autumn poem, Truedessa.
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree Mary it does sing a melancholy song.
DeleteLoved those falling leaves fluttering to the ground amongst the tree spirits ~ sigh ~ This truly evokes 'Autumn's brilliant song'. A beautifully rendered piece.
ReplyDeleteThank you Wendy :)

Very much like what Autumn does but the 'patchwork of colors' is very real - brown here, red there, orange and the works. Good description of the landscape, True!
Hank
Thanks Hank, One of the things I enjoy most about autumn is the colorful landscape.
DeleteAutumn's brilliant song indeed. What a stunning photo. I adore the leaf colour this time of year. This aft the waves were wild. I posted some photos on my site. Go peek!
ReplyDeleteI will have to take a look, thanks so much Sherry!
DeleteAutumn puts on one beautiful display.
ReplyDeleteIt sure does Alex!
DeleteSuch a sweet rendering of the seasonal images — the patchwork of color is aided by sounds as well. I loved the idea of "melancholy scented trails" which defines the mood that we carry as days get shorter and lights thinner. And that is definitely a beautiful photograph! :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Ammol - I took it as the sun was rising.
DeleteI'll take those melancholy (though scented) trails, thank you. What a pungent little tribute to autumn!
ReplyDeleteThanks, I took a hike and the smell was amazing.
DeleteSure knows how to leave one taking it all in.
ReplyDeleteYup, take in the golden hues :)
DeleteLuv your verses. The mystery of Autumn and the melancholy in reflection of this 'last' hurrah
ReplyDeleteMuch❤love
Thanks Gillena
DeleteAutumn certainly puts on a dazzling display! Lovely write ❤️
ReplyDeleteYes, it really does Sanaa and makes for wonderful poetry.
DeleteVery nice poem, True. It seems that leaves around here are falling but a lot of them didn't change color. I guess they just couldn't be bothered.
ReplyDeleteThanks Silver - Many trees around here decided not to bother as well. I took this one up North. I heard on the news the weather was the factor.
Deletean excellent reflection of autumn.
ReplyDeletei wish i could experience autumn. the tree leaves are always green over here, and it can be kind of boring, isn't it? :)
Hmm - depends on perspective, if it's warm and sunny it could be delightful.
DeleteI really love the image of the leaves "following tall tree spirits", it adds to the idea of the Circle of Life, showing that the leaves don't truly die... They just change, and follow the spirit of the trees into always.
ReplyDeleteMagaly, I do like the way your mind works you see beyond the words :)
DeleteI could see your words and the leaves fluttering:)
ReplyDeleteThanks Sandra
DeleteAlways my favourite season.
ReplyDeleteIt does have its splendor!
