"Eyes Without Face" by Robin Isely (Muse #98) |
in a room with a different
view
walls colored with a
melancholy hue
my heart softly sings the blues
how many eyes have been
weeping
filling the chamber, with
muted tones
while the world has been
sleeping
art is about perspective,
what do you see
tears of sorrow in the
scope of my vision
can I ever be what you
need me to be
portraits of you,
portraits of me
portraits of us and all
the people in between
tears spill from the
canvas of life
in a room with a different
view
walls colored with a
melancholy hue
my heart softly sings the blues
entering the doorway of perception
haunting images of
faceless cries
windows to the soul, our
truest reflection
paper boats float in
yesterday's streams
drowning in a
river of unknown tears
dry your eyes, time to find new dreams
portraits of you,
portraits of me
portraits of us and all
the people in between
tears spill from the
canvas of life

Thank you for visiting
May all your tears be tears of joy!
A heart that sings blue knows the score .....
ReplyDeleteArt is about perspective indeed, as is life. A great flow as the tears show.
ReplyDeleteSo many missed opportunities and regrets - so many tears.
ReplyDeleteThis reads like a beautiful blues song Truedessa yet it is deep with the questions we all ask. Truly lovely!
ReplyDeletePortraits of us and the people in between... so nice.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a beautiful response to that wall of weeping.
ReplyDeleteI like the in-between as it gives the reader something to wonder about. I used to have those, in my mind, some pretty sweet. They all went away now after I sat beside her the whole way through a granddaughter's wedding. I've not had those images since.
ReplyDeleteThis was a nice read, Good Job!!
..
Mesmerizing and haunting.
ReplyDeleteArt is about perspective... what are sad tears to one may be happy tears to another. I like how not just the art but the room has been incorporated. It becomes all encompassing.
ReplyDeleteI feel that the world is so filled with sorrow... so many spaces between people.
ReplyDeleteHi Truedessa - loved this ... so revealing when we consider things. Wonderful take on looking at things from all points of view ... 'haunting images of faceless cries' - this phrase rang out ... so many haunting cries today. Take care - Hilary
ReplyDelete"how many eyes have been weeping

Neat, under the title "you and eye" to lose the distinction between speaker and addressee. I like the doors and windows to different perceptions.
That was awesome! Do you know I didn't realize all of the pics were of women's eyes? Don't know how I missed that.
ReplyDeleteI always loved this poem Truedessa, the message the word craft and the beautiful feelings it holds. I have been so grateful to have you at the Muse my friend. You are an amazing poet and soul. 💙
