May Flower moon blooms
in the night sky
mourning doves sleep, tulips rest in their beds
dazzling stargazers, puffy clouds dance nearby
nocturnal songs play in a dreamer's head
mourning doves sleep, tulips rest in their beds
dazzling stargazers, puffy clouds dance nearby
nocturnal songs play in a dreamer's head
the heart of a dragon,
heaves a heavy sigh
a willow is known for the tears she sheds
a willow is known for the tears she sheds
spread your wings, let
your imagination fly
silvery stars laced with
metallic threads
spring a time of change, that you can't deny
a message of rebirth, it wishes to spread
daffodils yellow bright, open your eyes
enjoy the day, no one knows what's ahead
May flower moon blooms
in the night sky
soft petals of life, somewhere a baby cries

This is gorgeous and uplifting, True. Really beautiful.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning, Sherry. I also linked to earthweal. see you there.
DeleteVery nice sound in your sonnet. I have been watching the "May Flower moon" as it sets in the west these last couple of days.
ReplyDeleteHi Frank, that moon is alluring for sure.
DeleteSuch beautiful imagery! My favorite line is "nocturnal songs play in a dreamer's head"
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that, even in these uncertain times, the beauty of spring does appear to nourish us. I wish you the joys of spring as well, Truedessa!
ReplyDeleteThe weeping willow and the dragon - now that is an apt description. Yes, very imaginative!
ReplyDeleteHave to enjoy the beauty of spring and let the dreams flow
ReplyDeleteWe are full in autumn here, but your images transport me full into the gush of spring.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lush, sweet moon mothering this spring moment. Thanks - Brendan
ReplyDeleteNo one knows what's ahead, all right. Beautiful poem, True. One that brings a smile on my face.
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful, and the soft rhyming is very sweet. Spring is a season of birth and hope, so overshadowed this year, but still there if we look and listen.
ReplyDeleteDelicate and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI like the gentle sounds all the ‘m’ words in this poem, especially in the opening lines, and the way they are repeated in the end couplet. I love the image of tulips resting in their beds, ‘dazzling stargazers’.
ReplyDeleteI so enjoy spring... and to me it seems better than ever... but the clouds seems darker too.
ReplyDeletewritten feather-light yet also with depth and and clear eye ~
