Sometimes, I drink from the vine
being silly, concocting rhymes
enjoying a bit of sweet red wine
making toasts to all the good times
my muse laughs and thinks this is fine
penning funny stories until bedtime
oops, spilled some writing this last line
linking with dVerse
writing a quadrille of 44 words
incorporating the word "silly"

LOL, I imbibed some red wine myself tonight, to mourn a dead young filly who was too beautiful and young to die. I actually wrote a humorous (I think) poem for earthweal today. Whoa! I love your poem.
ReplyDeleteNicely done. :)
ReplyDeleteI like the thought of letting the silly spill with the wine.
ReplyDeleteA sip and a line... good it is only 44 words... You would have had a tipsy poem! Very good!
ReplyDeleteI like the spill of silliness – it’s catching too!
ReplyDeleteNow that was fun! You should write more humor and silly. You do it well.
ReplyDeleteWonderful way to begin my day, love your silliness.
ReplyDeleteLove your poem. I too enjoy a glass of red once in a while but it puts me to sleep. So, no concocting rhymes for me.
ReplyDeleteAh spilling silliness....good one! Sometimes a glass of wine and the pen can be very good companions! :)
ReplyDeleteRed wine is indeed a GOOD thing in these days of COVID. It can also be inspiring, as shown by this poem. Smiles!! (Alas, however, I prefer white!)
ReplyDeleteI do love a glass of wine... but I still try to keep it to weekends. Working from home.
ReplyDelete5 o'clock as morphed into wine o'clock in the city of Bend Oregon. Daily.
DeleteSilly fun sure is grand. Let it spill on out.
