Thistles, Thorns and Brambles

courtesy of pixabay

have we lost our way
in the thistles, thorns and brambles
can we find a clearing
where poets are free to ramble
the meandering of their minds
about a world now in shambles
can we find a seed of hope
scratched we now scramble

  1. Peace and hope indeed. I love the thought of that clearing for poets....maybe that is what online is for us these days. Lovely to read you, True.

  6. Indeed we are scrambling. Each day a new level of messiness. Hope is what sustains us.

  7. In my mind I'm linking this poem to Peter's whale submerged by brambles. Perhaps that's the old world, and perhaps it's no bad thing. Jury's out.

  8. Oh I hope there are places where we can find seeds of hope. If we don't find them easily, I guess it will be that we will have to plant those seeds ourselves! And keep writing.

The situation is the same the world over and we are all in confusion with the new normal. The downside is that it is not about to go away that easily. On the contrary many are back facing a second wave. Like your throwback to the contemporary scene, True!
