:"Indigo Sky Mares" by Laurel Burch |
riding in the deep blue of night
spirits unite
feeling alive
indigo sky
riding untamed in wispy clouds
are dreams allowed
can love prevail
past misty veil
riding until the morning light
holding on tight
smoldering eyes
heavenly sigh
ride, ride, ride
until we're broken
or free....

This beautiful poem captures the image wonderfully!! The lovely sight of true freedom!
ReplyDeleteAlive and unbroken ... what your poem illustrates! Cheers, True.
ReplyDeleteRide until we're broken or free......how amazing that line is........a beautifully blue poem.
ReplyDeleteNight rides are the best!
ReplyDeleteride, ride, ride
ReplyDeleteuntil we're broken
or free. -- ride we must.
Misty, "are dreams allowed can love prevail past misty veil?" We have to have all that, of course I'd come regardless. Nice write, ride, ride, ride (I rode a horse to high school for my first two years, it was a two roomer, three in my class).

Great job with the form on this! What I most enjoy is how you can string all of the first lines together in a unified whole, and then do the same with the 2nd and 3rd lines. Like a poetic puzzle.
ReplyDeleteLove, Love, Love!!! Big Hugs!
ReplyDeleteWondrous!
ReplyDeleteThe rhythm of your words gallop along with the meaning - beautiful and freeing.
ReplyDeleteI love the joy of togetherness in your poem and that final line. One way or another something will change.
