Happy Trails

Shay's from Muse #82

The prairies stretch out before me
there is silence in the wheat-fields
giant leafy trees are rare to see

the road goes for miles and miles
leading one to places in the mind
the journey full of trials and smiles

 galloping with the wind bareback
hooves pounding, hearts beating
riding together leaving our tracks

exhausted we stop, taking in the sun
our wandering songs, drift in the air
some things in life you can't out-run
but, in this moment, beauty is everywhere

Indigo Sky -

:"Indigo Sky Mares"  by Laurel Burch

riding in the deep blue of night
spirits unite
feeling alive
indigo sky

riding untamed in wispy clouds
are dreams allowed
can love prevail
past misty veil

riding until the morning light
holding on tight
smoldering eyes
heavenly sigh

ride, ride, ride
until we're broken
or free....

In A Flurry of Snow

Winter Wonderland

In a flurry of snow
my heart needs to know
can you see beyond here
come whisper in my ear

In a flurry of snow
can you see the moon's glow
come listen to the birdsong
allow your spirit to sing along

In a flurry of snow
there's a place my soul longs to go
where Pegasus soars on white wings
believing in the beauty that dreams bring

In a flurry of snow
the northern winter winds blow
leaving my imprints in the journey
a pathway opens for you and me

Day Dreaming

riding bareback
there is a trust
in kindred souls

under a blue sky
we take in the view
once this land was
filled with wild spirits

closing our eyes in
the afternoon sun
it's a good time for
a daydream or two

healing our wounds
learning different ways
to travel in life's  journey
walk, trot, canter and gallop

never to be tamed we
stand strong born with
a heart of love & free will
