riding bareback
author's note: written for The Sunday Muse
there is a trust
in kindred souls
under a blue sky
we take in the view
once this land was
filled with wild spirits
closing our eyes in
the afternoon sun
it's a good time for
a daydream or two
healing our wounds
learning different ways
to travel in life's journey
walk, trot, canter and gallop
never to be tamed we
stand strong born with
a heart of love & free will

ReplyDeleteA peaceful moment for a wild pair.
ReplyDelete"never to be tamed", I like the sound of that! Man I just want to run away to a forest and live in a cabin like a hermit.
ReplyDeleteI rode bareback when I was young. You captured the feelings perfectly.

Love this True! Would want this feeling to be extended to everyone for it is such a privilege not to be tamed as a person and allowed free to decide our destiny and all the while smothered with love.
