Oh, I love this! The breaking ground for the dead and the transformation of snow-angels.......just wonderful! Today, in town, I was so thrilled to see a heron perched on top of a huge old tree - I was looking around for someone to share it with, and stopped a couple walking by, and made them pay suitable homage. Smiles. That heron made my day.
ReplyDeleteI am always thrilled to see a heron. There is something mystical about them and I think they are a good sign of change.
DeleteIt's the transformation that makes all the difference, isn't it? "Season of change."
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree Susan change is the one think constant in life.
DeleteThe ground must rebirth soon, no more breaking, no more snow lol Great imagery indeed.
ReplyDeleteI think we have a while Pat, in reality it is still Fall.
DeleteI think I've caused a few of those tears from the snow-angels. Thank you for this visual.
ReplyDeleteThank you Joel for visiting. I hope not too many tears fell.
DeleteSo love "muffles the tears of snow-angels transformed" Very mystical
ReplyDeleteThank you Marja - maybe the wind muffles the cries.
DeleteAn honest summing up of winter, Truedessa, and I love the image of it muffling the tears of snow-angels.
ReplyDeleteThank you Kim, I haven't made a snow-angel in some time.
DeleteI really love how the image you chose and the write go together. Winter does seem barren of life and yet if you look closely, there are still a few that brave the elements (I caught a picture of a beautiful red cardinal the other day against a backdrop of empty trees and snow). The dead don't weep only those left behind, so what seems barren is simply transformed.
ReplyDeleteSeeing those cardinals in the landscape is always breathtaking. The contrast is amazing.
DeleteLovely cinquain. These can become very addictive you know:)Just thought I would warn you.
ReplyDeleteHi Rall, you might be right they are quite fun to do.
DeleteWinter as a time of transformation---lovely!
ReplyDeleteWinter can be a time of transformation especially for those hibernating.
DeleteI love the scene set with snow angels and their brief presence during this time of transformation and change..a beautiful winter feel within your poem:)
ReplyDeleteThank you Eileen. Those angels are out there watching over the winter landscape.
DeleteI must admit I'm muffling my own tears because I'm just not cut out for Winter dear True. But I love snow and I love the imagery of snow angels transformed :)
ReplyDeleteI guess you don't have to worry about snow where you are as you have warm climate most of the year. I'm not really cut out for it but, here I live going through the seasons of life.
DeleteWhat a beautiful red cardinal against the backdrop of white nothingness...winter in all its glory waiting for spring to arrive and breathe life into it once again.
ReplyDeleteThe promises of spring will arrive but, first we must get through these cold winter days. Actually winter hasn't even arrived we are still in fall.
