The Night Sky

The sky deepens in darkness
stars glittering the heavens
welcoming the new moon

Drifting into a sea of dreams
guide me to shores of wisdom
they are waiting for rediscovery

Reset the path of inner harmony
serenade me with ancient songs
touching the frequency of love

Sailing towards morning light
nasty storm rides in on dragon wings
full of fury with lightning speed

clouds release a cleansing breath
watering the earth, filling river beds
soaking the tree roots for growth

Reset the path of inner harmony
rays of light crack through the storm
awakening to the promises of a new day

written for  What's Going on? The Night Sky

  1. I love this, Truedessa, the dreams, the shore of wisdom, and resetting the path of inner harmony - hard to do these days, but so needed.

  2. Without the night or storm, we wouldn't have the magic moment "rays of light crack through the storm." Without the night, we would have no "inner harmony." Lovely poem.

  3. This is a beautiful journey from darkness to light through dreams, wisdom, inner harmony, fulfillment, love and awakening. Yet one has to ride the storm to arrive at the destination. So beautifully penned.

  4. Truedessa,
Your poem is a very placid description of the story of the night sky and the presence of the moon.
A harmonic journey with a fitting lyrical lilt.
An enjoyable adventure, once we note the passing phases....

  6. Yes - the life in the sky is reflected in the life that we live. Great thoughts and interesting writing.

  8. Truedessa -- this poem is just so YOU. Dreamlike and ethereal. I love the repetition of "reset the inner harmony" and the idea that "clouds release a cleansing breath." Just lovely!
