The Harbor

Egon Schiele, Harbor of Trieste (1907)

Shimmering water
reflections of the day
jagged lines of moored ships
rigged masts stand tall and gray

waiting for tomorrows trips
the harbor port on full display
over the horizon, the sun slowly dips
this the landscape, I wish to portray

    "reflections of the day" -- Yes, that "shimmering water", a reflection of the energy and motion contained in those vessels "waiting for tomorrows trips."
