Dear Death for dVerse

Dear Death,

Do you hear the painful cries
     of a world in crisis

people lost looking for signs
    to ease their grief

what choice remains
     when souls are lost

brushes with  near death
     happening each day..

broken hearts... pauses
    vital rhythm of life

how does one fight the battle
    the panoply of power

flatland in the journey
let us take a leap of faith...

Conquer death with life...

Author's note: The challenge was to create a Dada Poem..how this works is you take  some text  cut it up into pieces and pick words to create a poem.  For this exercise I made a copy of a page from a book I am reading..cut into pieces and selected words randomly to construct this poem. This was an interesting prompt..thank you Charles...

Love Letters for dVerse June 4, 2013

Awake in crumpled sheets
wafer thin, fragile cry
writing love letters from my heart
where to start, where to end
black ink drips from  a leaky  pen
how do I express all that's within

teary eyes, I slip into a dream
you are hovering in the wings
to ease my tormented soul
gently plucking my heartstrings
warm kisses , our tongues ignite
increasing the tempo of desire

dark hours, ours bodies entwined
quivering to the rhythm of the night
even if it is just a figment of my mind
waltzing on the edge of insanity
you take my hand,  humming in my ear
an enchanted melody...

passions mounting, a fountain of love
overflowing basin from deep within
intoxicating drink makes my head spin
shameless , my soul in nakedness sings
a rush of pleasure, surely this cannot be a sin

falling
       falling
            falling

into a magical dream-scape
tranquility embraced in your arms
whispering your name in the misty air
luminous eyes, I behold a new horizon
if this is a dream please wake me not
drifting  back into a lucid state

dVerse June 1, 2013 Cleansing - Bathroom prompt hosted by Claudia

Cleansing

The day is rough like an angry sea
I seek soothing  relief,  to dream
to feel the lulls of yesterday

filling the tub, warm water
lavender  bubbles layers of foam
fragrant candles, turn off the lights

soft music playing beyond the curtain
slowly I  slip naked into the warmth
relaxing sensations take over my senses

closing my eyes,  sinking...sinking
into a distant land where this poet can dream
where my thoughts take formation

deep cleansing of my soul
soaking in a luxurious scent
I feel refreshed and pleasantly clean

sip some wine, forget about time
  write down a few lines
discovering the waterfall of my mind

dare not disturb the silence
nor pull the plug, fearing
my dreams will swirl away

into the vortex of the drain
forever gone
so, here I remain

until the last bubble dissolves

author's note: Claudia thank you for a fun prompt..
