Fisherman's Tale

Untitled
by Thomas Eakins (1910)
Fair Use

They gathered with nets on the shoreline
on a dark rainy day, searching for a sign

it was rumored that s ship of dreams sailed
carrying treasures beyond the mystic veil

cold and hungry they cast out their heavy nets
through the fog, formed ghostly silhouettes

echoes of deep regrets, ballad of lost souls
who among you, will hear the last bell toll

with humble hearts, working side by side
hidden full moon, pulling hope with the tide

it is said their nets were bountiful with fish
and the ship of dreams full- filled their wish

perhaps, this is an old fisherman's tale
for all we know it could have been a whale

Weaving the Tides

full moon

grandmother moon you weave the tides
beyond the darkness, light resides
guardian of dreams in the night
somewhere a heart yearns to take flight

how many rough waves, must one ride
grandmother moon you weave the tides
mother earth grows weary from strife
seeking balance, sustaining life

setting the rhythm, a distant drum
falling leaves, a new season comes
grandmother moon you weave the tides
in matters of fate, who decides

illuminating the heavens
revealing creators presence
new visions in unsettled times
grandmother moon you weave the tides

Tree of Fortune

free pics

wandering through the orchard of life
between the empires and golden delicious
a bountiful tree grows of sweet fortune
hanging from low limbs, offering a taste

between the empires and golden delicious
would just a slice, feed a hungry appetite
can the fleshy sweetness, full-fill wishes
satisfying my wildest dreams of night

a bountiful tree grows of sweet fortune
are you the crisp fruit or are you the tree
autumn softly whispers, a colorful tune
closing my eyes, so that i might foresee

hanging from low limbs, offering a taste
shall I pick the fruit from your branches
savoring this moment, I dare not waste
giving thanks, CRunCH, I take a chance

Un-Locking Dreams

I close my eyes to fall asleep
singing a song, a willow weeps
transformation, love sets the scene
opening my mind while I dream

I seek a place beyond the stars
where I know you are never far
tranquility, riding moonbeams
opening my mind while I dream

I close my eyes to fall asleep
wandering into darkness deep
finding light in sky rivers gleam
opening my mind while I dream

I seek a place beyond the stars
harmony in this world of ours
soaring on a dragon it seems
opening my mind while I dream

I Wonder

Late  at night I think about you and I
wonder do you think about me?

Under a starry sky,  I wonder what
resides  beyond the milky way?

Under a full moon, I wonder will
beams of light calm an angry sea?

When the planets align, I wonder
will we then meet face to face?

When autumn is in full bloom
will we miss a lost summer day?

I wonder, do you see castles in
the clouds, or am I the only one?

I wonder do you believe in dragons
and mystical happenings?

Late at night dreaming, I wonder
what is fantasy and reality?

I feel change is upon us,
do you feel it too?

author's note:  I Wonder by Rodriguez came
to mind,  I hope you enjoy the song.
