The Spirit Within

To find your true soul purpose
you must be willing to expand
the depth of your heart center
stretching  your mind, body
and spirit

focusing  on your breathing
clearing your head of debris
slowly inhaling and exhaling
become your own warrior
giving thanks to the moon
and stars for clarity, greet
the day with a sun pose

the path to enlightenment
starts with the first wobbly
step, balance comes with
practice overcoming personal
boundaries, you are able
to stand with confidence
resting on one foot with
the crane as your guide

meditate with the bird-songs
listening to the call of nature
tranquility comes from within
find your inner peace and
you will find your true self

Kind thoughts
Kind words
Kind heart

  1. I love starting with "you must be willing" and ending with kindness.

  2. Oh yes, nothing like kindness. It does help that expansion of heart and self. Wonderful thoughts.

  3. Beautiful.
Kindness (including kindness to self) needs to be scattered like confetti.

  4. Hi Truedessa - focusing on the within ... clearing the debris from the mind - I need to do that and not get drawn in with other thoughts as I clear my head - not easy. Kindness is an essential in life - thinking of others, rather than self - then concentrating in peace on self ... working to be a better one ... cheers Hilary

  7. Must take that first wobbly step and learn and grow, then hopefully a true purpose shall show. Or you fall down after doing warrior three lol

  9. Written like one who has perfected the art of yoga. How I wish I could say the same. I can deep breathe until I'm dizzy with ozygen and still can't shut off my brain!

  11. I like your poem a lot, Truedessa, as it seems that you are giving us kind of a blueprint for a successful yoga experience. I especially like 'the path to enlightenment starts with the first wobbly step.' Ah, maybe I should give yoga a try again. I feel this one.

  15. Clarity. Everyone needs to meditate in there own way.
Wobbly steps are always the hardest. Pays off in the end though!

  16. As always, loved this. It relaxed me reading it. I do my yoga 'briefs' to sounds of the ocean.

Now, how exactly do I clear my head of debris?

  25. I would argue one addendum.

You must also be willing to listen to the world. Sometimes things are placed before you but the close minded will walk away from them. Be willing to see and hear what is in front of you.

Beautifully articulated, my amazing friend. We tune in, listen to nature's natural balance and the positive focus begins to flow.
