we meet under willow boughs at twilight
seeking balance, my heart yearns to take flight
passageway found chanting ancient prayer
breathing in elements earth, water and air
sturdy trunk, hidden doorway appears
stepping into darkness, light disappears
seeking wisdom, earthly roots need repair
breathing in elements earth, water and air
following the path of tears, healing water
transitional movement, getting stronger
dreaming, suddenly I become aware
breathing in elements earth, water and air
we meet under willow boughs at sunlight
awakening spirit, my heart takes flight
spreading wings, a new journey to prepare
breathing in elements earth, water and air
authors note; The heron visited me in
a dream, this is to honor that vision.
A lovely way to voice your inspiration

DeleteHey True!

ReplyDeleteZQ
The poet is still trying to figure out the meaning between the lines :)
DeleteThis is a marvelous composition and a mind boggling coincidence. (We both wrote about a willow)
ReplyDeletecoincidence or synchronicity as the oracle speaks to each of us.
DeleteDreaming of a heron must have made you so inquisitive as to why but writing this poem was a great reward not only for you but for us as well.
ReplyDeleteThank you Old Egg, whenever, I have a dream of this type I step back and take a reality check, what does this bird have to say to me about my waking life.
DeleteThe refrain reads like a prayer itself. So beautiful. Isn't it wonderful to have a vision of Nature in her bird form in dream? You are one lucky soul.
