June's strawberry moon
making my head swoon
warm nights
dreams of blue lagoons
are we fools or loons
starlight
organic our tunes
wrapped in a cocoon
sealed tight

Lai it on!
Thanks for visiting!
So lovely and timely. This form fits you well.
ReplyDeleteIt is interesting how the moon gets all these different names, however, I like the name "strawberry moon" although I don't know why the full moon in June is called that.
ReplyDeleteIt's when strawberries come on (are ripe and harvested) in many parts of the U.S. But that's not all that poetic.... Better left to our imagination.
DeleteFinely tuned!
ReplyDeleteI love both strawberries and moon. Wish I could see the moon, but skies are not dark enough in June.
ReplyDeleteLyrical and lovely.
ReplyDeleteIn our country we also attach different names to the full moon. A beautiful poem of 'strawberry moon' with warm nights.
ReplyDeleteLike the whimsy!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for the strawberries..we've had only a few days of warm sun. And it's cloudy tonight so I don't think we will see the moon. I love it.
ReplyDeleteOne strawberry you can't eat, just stare at and enjoy ever so sweet.
ReplyDeleteA strawberry moon....sounds delicious! :)
ReplyDeleteFools or loons - great line! The light-hearted feel of this poem is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI love to dream of blue lagoons and starlight ~ Love that strawberry moon too ~
ReplyDeleteWonderful!
ReplyDeleteLyrically done! Have to ask if the Loons are the birds... or neighbors and friends. :)
ReplyDeletePerfectly written in requested format -- and entertaining as well!
ReplyDeleteLight and warm your words. We've just sunk into winter and the moon is an icy white. Coldly beautiful.
ReplyDeleteNice lines
ReplyDeleteThere's a hint of nursery rhyme or even nonsense rhyme to this one. Impossible not to smile :)
ReplyDeleteA little light hearted romance. We won't know until the cocoon matures. (but for now...)
ReplyDeleteStrawberry fields forever--lovely & fun Lai. You nailed the form & whipped up some whimsey as well.
ReplyDeleteYou make me look forward to summer. 😊

ReplyDeleteThis was really fun. I've actually never heard of the term strawberry moon, but I like that a lot.
