of truth and fiction
I sing between the verses
of lyrical poetry
I write between the covers
of fantasy and desire
I dally between the chapters
of knights and dragons
I read between the lines
of mystical adventures
I dream between the settings
of imaginary and real places
I love between fantasy and reality
engaging with amazing characters
I find myself between truth and fiction
giving you silken words from my heart
You read between the lines and see a whole new world, beyond what the rest of us see.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully said, Truedessa.
very cool concept
ReplyDeleteA lot more can be found in between indeed.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully said Truedessa! Big Hugs!
ReplyDeleteA great poem - I especially liked the parting lines
ReplyDeleteEvery word true, out of fiction or fantasy or knight or dragon—all felt (truly lived) emotions. I love what this says of writing and reading and feeling.
ReplyDeleteI love all the in betweens. Beautifully expressed, my friend.
ReplyDeleteFascinated by the way this put the speaker as the the medium of passage between the reality and fiction, an ocean of reactions and creatures and wonders between those shores. :)
ReplyDeleteyay! i love the fantasy quality of this one as with all the others by you. good work!
ReplyDeleteThese are the places we truly live...in the middle embracing it all. Thank you for the tour through your "betweens."
ReplyDeleteLOVE it. It sums up writing and reading purrfectly.
ReplyDeleteI liked all the betweens. How very true they all are.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to be between different genres of art. Love your poem.
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful. Happy Sunday Truedessa

Much❤🕊❤love
Ohh this is simply delightful writing 💖💖 I love; "I dream between the settings of imaginary and real places."😊
ReplyDeleteAnd each has so much to offer, especially when couched in those silken words.
ReplyDeleteI love this wonderfully constructed, beautifully rendered, very creative 'between' poem. Lovely writing!
ReplyDeleteLove the poem title. Better than 'between lies and non-fiction'
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you put the dragons in there. May those silken words be closer to truth than to fiction! This poem evokes for me a reading life, a happy life indeed.
ReplyDeleteIn between and where the pages meet. This poem opened up like a book.
ReplyDeleteGreat dichotomies. Very excellent imagery!
ReplyDeleteThis sings to my bookwormish heart!
ReplyDeleteTruly, the line between truth and fiction is thin.
