In the night, I chase dreams
under glowing moonbeams
love a figment of my imagination
mind games offering a distraction
space a magician with sparkling eyes
waiting for the phoenix to arise
from ashes new poetry is born
some dreams are just time worn
written for dVerse
hosted by Lillian
writing a 44 word quadrille
incorporating the word Figment of some form
This is beautiful! I'm smitten with these two lines....

DeleteI like that line also. Great title as well.
DeleteThanks JadeLi - space is pure magic
Delete"Some dreams are just time worn" - so true, but maybe because they were the ones that meant the most. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteSherry, perhaps they were ...
DeleteI enjoyed the turn in the last line.
ReplyDeleteMaria, thank you for visiting and commenting
DeleteFrom ashes poetry's born, alright! Been there. Great Quad! Thanks
ReplyDeleteHi Ron - emerging on the wings of words one can find the strength to fly
DeleteNicely done, Truedessa! Sometimes all we have left are figments of our imagination!
ReplyDeleteDwight - those figments sometimes need deciphering but, the imagination is a powerhouse of adventure.
DeleteThe dream goes on forever True — wonderful piece my friend.
ReplyDeleteThanks Rob - and these lyrics from Todd Rundgren come to mind. I saw him once in a small mountain town.
DeleteYou're so far away and so long ago
But my dream goes on forever
And how much I loved you you'll never know
'Til you join me within my dream
Lovely, Truedessa. Especially sruck by these lines:

Delete"Love a figment of my imagination" ~~ I was most struck by this line in your beautifully composed Quadrille. Wanting that to never be a reality, for any person.
ReplyDeleteHi Helen, lets hope love is more than a figment of the imagination, but some loves seem surreal.
DeleteTime worn dreams... wow, that's a strong ending that keeps a reader thinking.
ReplyDeleteDef something to ponder...
DeleteExcellent, as always. I especially like your opening phrase, ' In the night, I chase dreams.' Have a creative one. Sandra sandracox.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteI am always chasing dreams - I guess it's the fool in me that believes.
DeleteClever quadrillle! I try to chase dreams but can scarce remember them. Mysterious mind games. Where do they come from?
ReplyDeleteThank you, Yvonne. Dreams come from places known and unknown.
Delete"waiting for the phoenix to arise
ReplyDeletefrom ashes new poetry is born"
love those lines!
On the wings new poetry can be created...
DeleteHave a wondrous and creative weekend, True.
