Until Called Home

we are the clear blue waters
we are the roar of the waves
we are the clouds drifting by
we are the seagulls that fly
we are the swirling sands of time
we are the four seasons of a tree
we are the warmth of a noon sun
we are the creatures of the earth
we are the heartbeat of life
we are the  visitors in this place
we call home...

    sometimes in the late 80's
when all I could think about
was human beings being interlopers here ...

  19. Beautiful ... I love the chant-like lyrical quality in this. You have a wonderful ability, in your writing, to imbue many of your pieces with an almost mythic aura. Your use of repetition is really masterful.
